Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School, Inc., located in Latrobe, PA, was chartered in 1998 to provide educational services to more than 200 disruptive youth. The Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School works in partnership with Adelphoi Villlage, a private, non-profit agency providing community-based treatment services for at-risk youth and their families. The Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School provides educational services for its charter district, Greater Latrobe School District, as well as for youth from nearly 60 counties and 70 public school districts throughout Pennsylvania. The only Charter School in Westmoreland County, the Dr. Robert Ketterer Charter School believes that all students can be motivated to learn through the use of content matter that is relevant to their lives and through increased opportunities for individualized attention.
The Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center is a part-time career and technology center located in Latrobe, Westmoreland County. The CTC serves over 575 students from three public school districts: Greater Latrobe, Derry Area and Ligonier Valley. EWCTC offers 15 programs in one of five career clusters—Automotive, Construction, Communications and Information Technology, Manufacturing and Services. Students can obtain nationally recognized certification in 13 of our 15 programs. At EWCTC we believe that high levels of both academic knowledge and technical skills are vital to student achievement. As educators it is our business to create opportunities for students and to provide the support needed for success. Effective interpersonal skills are essential to success in all aspects of life. It is our belief that the responsibility for improving student achievement is shared by students and teachers and is actively supported by parents and the business community. It is our goal to focus on rigor, relevance and relationships. The Franklin Regional School District serves the communities of Export, Murrysville and portions of Delmont. It is located approximately twenty miles East of Pittsburgh. With over 3,700 students and nearly 400 staff members, the district operates three Elementary schools (Heritage, Newlonsburg, and Sloan), a Middle School, and a Senior High School. The Greater Latrobe School District is located in southwestern Pennsylvania at the foothills of the Laurel Highlands. It is approximately 50 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh and 30 miles southwest of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. U.S. Route 30 bisects much of the district, which encompasses the City of Latrobe, Youngstown Borough, and Unity Township, with approximately 30,000 residents. We take great pride in being a student-centered school district with diverse course offerings and high academic standards for our pupils. We strive to be progressive in promoting teaching techniques that appeal to the various learning styles of pupils. During strategic planning, members of the community who represent various businesses, industries, and parent organizations challenged educators to develop and use assessment systems that are results-oriented. Our Strategic Plan emphasizes the development of communication skills and mathematics. Specifically, we expect our students to write and to write well. Additionally, students will be asked to participate in the development and delivery of speeches, and their ability to read and write will be assessed through standardized and local testing measures. In mathematics, we have implemented pre- and post-testing and quarterly assessment procedures at various grade levels. This program is designed to streamline the curriculum so that we avoid unnecessary repetition and prepare students to make practical application of concepts taught in mathematics.

Monessen, a very caring and unique school district, relies on versatility in meeting the needs of our very special young people by assisting them to become productive citizens and confident individuals in our own and world community. The School District of the City of Monessen is composed of two buildings, the Elementary Center and the Middle/High School. The present enrollment for the district is 1,120 students.
