ROOSEVELT CHILDREN'S ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL
About School District: Dramatically increasing school enrollment, a shrinking commercial tax base, changing economic demographics, difficult state aid formulas, general economic hardships and an inconsistent and revolving management team placed the Long Island’s Roosevelt School District on a road to an eventual takeover by the New York State Education Department. While many of the problems that caused this crisis are being addressed and there has been scattered progress along with some lapses, the Roosevelt District has a great deal to overcome.
