About School District: The school district is made up of original schools from Lebanon, Poolville, Earlville, Smyrna, North Norwich, and Sherburne. Grades K-5 are located in a new elementary facility located adjacent to the Middle-High School in Sherburne. Seven Board members are elected for three-year terms to oversee the educational system.Early childhood education is literacy based. The individual skill level of each child is determined upon entry to school.  The program is structured to provide all support for all students based on their level and their learning needs.The district's elementary school has a comprehensive program in all academic areas, providing for acceleration and remediation. Special emphasis is placed on integrating the reading and writing processes. Laboratory instruction in Science is emphasized in the elementary curriculum.
