About School District: The Garretson School District is located in the southeast part of South Dakota approximately 20 minutes northeast of Sioux Falls just north of I-90 and covers over eighty-eight square miles along the Minnesota border. Garretson has a population of 1165. The Garretson School District serves approximately 245 elementary students, 106 middle school students, 167 high school students and 2 alternative school pupils. With a professional staff comprised of a Superintendent, 6-12 Principal, K-5 Principal and 33 teachers, the school has a 1:15 teacher–to-student ratio.
