About School District: Douglass ISD encompasses approximately 90 square miles of Nacogdoches County. The beautiful forest landscapes and Lake Nacogdoches, along with the proximity to Nacogdoches and Lufkin, make it a great place to live. Douglass ISD serves approximately 390 students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Douglass students enjoy small class size, along with personal attention from teachers and staff. The number one priority of the staff is student safety. Along with safety, creating an environment that is conducive to our student's success is very important. Douglass staff members set high academic expectations for all of our students in the classroom. These expectations are evident in the positive results our students have traditionally shown over the years. The support of parents and the community play a very large role in any school's success and we are very fortunate to have such a great environment. We are excited to be rated a Texas Education Agency "Exemplary District".
