About School District: Early Independent School District has a strong academic program and prides itself in the first-rate quality of its schools. The district is a vital part of a dynamic and growing community. Parental support, dedicated staff members and top-quality instruction contribute to an excellent learning environment in the schools. Early ISD encompasses 80 square miles and is located in the center of Brown County. The property tax rate is approximately $1.39 per $100. Early ISD was established in 1931 and known as the Early Common Consolidated Rural High School District. The oldest remaining building from the early years of the district is the red brick building on the primary/elementary campus. Mission Statement: It is the belief of the Early Independent School District that all students can learn and that our schools can make a positive difference in the lives of our students. Our mission is to provide an environment for individual growth and development of the whole child and to prepare our students to make a positive influence in the dynamic, changing world of our future. The Early Independent School District will maintain an instructional program which provides opportunities for increased student learning and performance, promotes social and emotional growth, and improves citizenship competencies regardless of students' socioeconomic status, family background, race, gender, or prior academic performance. The Early Independent School District exists for the purpose of making a positive difference in the lives of our students and we share the responsibility of education with students, parents, and the community.
