About School District: Mission Statement: The Miles Independent School District exists because of the students and therefore our thinking, our activities, and our endeavors are centered on the general welfare and safety of all students. The purpose of this school, in partnership with parents and community, is to educate all students physically, mentally, morally, and emotionally and to expect high levels of academic performance. Appreciation for the heritage and basic traditions of the community is emphasized. The curriculum provides for sustained individual growth and continuing development of the whole student. We accept the responsibility to teach all students regardless of sex, handicap, race, color, or national origin, so they may attain their maximum educational potential.
