About School District: Morton Independent School District, which serves the City of Morton, Texas and the surrounding area, was established in the 1920’s. The District located 65 miles northwest of Lubbock, on the western border of Region XVII, encompasses 216 square miles. Morton is a rural community of approximately 2500 people. It is the mission of the District to provide learning experiences that will ensure opportunity for all students to achieve academically and socially as individuals who will become production member of society.
