About School District: Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee, Inc. (BEAM) is a tuition free, public Charter School. BEAM is the first school of its kind in Milwaukee, where, in addition to the traditional curriculum, the school specializes in teaching its students and parents and guardians how to become financially accountable and successful. BEAM features an innovative business and economics curriculum. The school focuses on themes relating to personal finance, entrepreneurship and the basics of a market economy. Students learn skills such as basic banking, personal budgeting, and problem solving. After school activities include the Millionaires Club and two student-run school businesses. The mission of the Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee is educating students to acquire the knowledge and skills that will enable them to achieve academically, as well as participate and succeed in a growing and changing economy by building their own human capital.
