The East Meadow School District is made up of nine schools serving the communities of East Meadow and Westbury, New York. Located on Long Island, the district is in the heart o$f Nassau County and has a long and accomplished history.The district was formed in 1814. Registration during the nineteenth century ranged from 20 to 110 students. At its peak in 1963, more than 19,000 students were attending school here. From 1973 to 1983, a pattern of declining enrollment occurred in many schools throughout New York as the famous "baby boom" ended.Today, there are more than 7,400 students attending school here, with the school district expecting increasing enrollments in the foreseeable future.

ROOSEVELT CHILDREN'S ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL
Dramatically increasing school enrollment, a shrinking commercial tax base, changing economic demographics, difficult state aid formulas, general economic hardships and an inconsistent and revolving management team placed the Long Island’s Roosevelt School District on a road to an eventual takeover by the New York State Education Department. While many of the problems that caused this crisis are being addressed and there has been scattered progress along with some lapses, the Roosevelt District has a great deal to overcome.

ROSLYN UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Roslyn Union Free School District is situated less than 20 miles from midtown Manhattan. The school district covers an area of five square miles and encompasses a group of primarily residential communities on Long Island's north shore, including the historic Village of Roslyn and all or part of East Hills, Flower Hill, Greenvale, Roslyn Estates, Roslyn Harbor and Roslyn Heights. The district has five schools: the Heights School, an early childhood center for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and half of the district's first grade students; East Hills School, an elementary school, grades 2 through 5; Harbor Hill School, an elementary school, grades 1 through 5; Roslyn Middle School for grades 6 through 8; and Roslyn High School for grades 9 through 12. SEAFORD UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT
At the elementary level, we have begun to roll out our Response to Intervention (RtI) Plan providing reading services to eligible students. This three tier plan is designed to identify students needing remediation in the area of reading and is focused on supporting these students with research based educational programs and materials. Included in this plan is administration of the AIMSweb reading assessment, which is a universal screening tool that will be administered three times a year. VALLEY STREAM 30 UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Tucked away in the southwest corner of Nassau County, Long Island, New York, Valley Stream Union Free School District 30 is a short train ride from New York City. The District encompasses an area of approximately two square miles and has a population of about 15,500 residents. A portion of the incorporated Village of Valley Stream is located within the boundaries of the School District.Our community is ideally located, offering the convenience of cosmopolitan culture along with the pleasures of suburban life. The Long Island Railroad, public buses, or a short drive afford residents the opportunity to enjoy the cultural riches of New York City. District 30 is also located near many of Long Island's recreational facilities, including numerous county and town parks, golf courses, tennis courts, and the fabled Long Island coastline.Educational opportunities abound. VALLEY STREAM CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Valley Stream Central High School District is one of only three New York State Districts covering grades 7-12 exclusively. The District operates one junior high school for grades 7-9 (Memorial Junior High School); one senior high school for grades 10-12 (Central High School); and two combined junior and senior high schools for grades 7 -12 (North High School and South High School). The four buildings are located on approximately 58 acres of land.Students enter the District's secondary schools after graduation from one of the 10 schools maintained by Elementary Districts Thirteen, Twenty-four and Thirty--whose combined outer boundaries are coterminous with the boundary of the High School District. In addition to the major portion of the Villages of Valley Stream and most of North Valley Stream, the District also consists of parts of Elmont, Franklin Square, Lynbrook and Malverne.Approximately 4,600 students in grades 7 through 12 are enrolled in our schools and are served by a professional staff of over 450 teachers, specialists, administrators, social workers and registered nurses.A nine member Board of Education governs the District, which is composed of three appointees from each of the Elementary District Boards. The Board members receive no salary, nor any other financial compensation, either direct or indirect, for their services. All Board of Education meetings are open to the public.
