The SC School for the Deaf and the Blind is the state’s only specialized school for students who are deaf or blind. The main campus is located in Spartanburg, but the school serves students throughout the state through its campus and outreach programs. The school’s mission is to ensure that the individuals we serve realize maximum success through high quality education programs, outreach services and partnerships. The school’s long-term vision is to be the statewide leader in education and accessibility for individuals who are deaf, blind or sensory multi-disabled.
District One Schools, Spartanburg, is located in the northwest section of Spartanburg County about 10 miles from the city of Spartanburg. It is comprised of an area approximately 120 square miles and has an estimated population of 30,000. The School District currently operates five elementary schools, three junior high schools, two senior high schools, and a shared career center. The student enrollment is approximately 5,100 students. The School district and all schools are fully accredited by the South Carolina Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. Our mission is to provide a quality, student-centered education.
Spartanburg County School District Two is a premier, growing Upstate South Carolina school district tucked in a picturesque and tranquil area of the Piedmont lying in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Foothills. Encompassing the city of Chesnee, the community of Boiling Springs, and the intervening rural regions (approximately 135 square miles in the northern portion of Spartanburg County from I-85 to the North Carolina state line), the district has 58,300 residents and a student population of 10,050. The mission of Spartanburg County School District Four is to prepare students to become confident, competent, respectful, and responsible individuals by creating a positive, innovative, safe and nurturing school environment in which staff, caregivers, and the community work together to provide opportunities for all students to achieve educational success and to become lifelong learners. District Four has just over 2900 students, and is comprised of four schools, enabling students to be classmates from kindergarten through high school. The small size of the school district allows teachers and administrators to know students by name and communicate with them on a personal level. District Four is a progressive school system that maintains long-standing traditions and pride. We strive to employ teachers and administrators that are dedicated to providing a quality education for your child. The mission of Daniel Morgan Technology Center is to provide students with the academic, technical, and decision-making skills needed to compete successfully at the post-secondary level, and in the global community.
R.D. Anderson Applied Technology Center is one of 49 career centers in the state which provide high school students with skills necessary to prepare them for a successful career in an ever-changing work place. R.D. Anderson is accredited by the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and offers a career curriculum to students from Byrnes, Dorman, and Woodruff High Schools. The one-year and two-year programs, plus several semester courses, offer students a wide range of career choices. This provides students with a basic foundation to either enter the work force immediately after graduation or to continue their education at a technical college of a four-year college or university. With technical skills in high demand, R.D. Anderson recognizes the fact than an ever-increasing number of good jobs today require at least two years of training after graduation from high school. The center's faculty and staff encourage students to continue their education and awards scholarships yearly to deserving students. R.D. Anderson offers cooperative education to many students each year, providing an opportunity to gain on-the-job experience while attending school. The program is a "cooperative" effort of the student, employer, parents, teacher, and school. Several programs also have dual credit arrangements with Spartanburg Community College and Greenville Technical College. The mission of R. D. Anderson Applied Technology Center is to provide a positive, innovative, and challenging applied learning environment in which staff, families, and the community work together so that all students have an opportunity to develop marketable job skills and work ethics necessary to be successful in the ever-changing workplace and/or post secondary education.
