A.W. Beattie Career Center is a Career and Technical Educational facility located in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Offering 16 professional programs, along with traditional academic programs and Mandarin Chinese (via distance learning) to high school and adult students from nine local school districts, A.W. Beattie Career Center has a program to match nearly every career and educational goal. Students have the opportunity to earn college credits through their program while still in high school through A.W. Beattie Career Center's participation in the Statewide Articulation Program. Career-minded students can take advantage of important career training and employment opportunities offered through the school, as well as their program's offered professional certifications.

We Treat Our Students As Young Men and Women Not Juvenile Offenders. When our students arrive here, it’s because they’ve been in trouble with the law. In trouble at school. Lacking structure in their lives and without any sense of their own pride or potential. Our job is to change all that. Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, The Academy Charter School is the only licensed secondary charter school in the nation that admits an all-delinquent population. Opened in 2005, in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh School District, The Academy Charter School educates students in grades 8-12 following a typical school year schedule.

ACLD TILLOTSON SCHOOL
Over the decades the ACLD Tillotson School has developed a highly effective special education program for students challenged by complex Specific Learning Disabilities and related disorders. The school is coeducational and was founded in 1972 by a not-for-profit corporation, ACLD, Inc., An Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities. It is located in the South Hills section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The ACLD Tillotson School is licensed by the PA State Board of Private Academic Schools and approved by the PA Department of Education’s , Bureau of Special Education to educate students who cannot receive an appropriate special education program in the public schools. Our school is located in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh and provides education to children and school districts within a seven- county region: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland.

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit, also known as the AIU, is part of Pennsylvania's public education system and is one of 29 Intermediate Units created in 1970 by the Pennsylvania State General Assembly. We provide specialized educational services to Allegheny County's 42 suburban school districts and five vocational/technical schools. Located just a few miles from the city of Pittsburgh in the scenic Waterfront commercial development in Homestead, Pennsylvania, the AIU employs more than 1,800 employees at 436 sites and operates 10 family centers and three schools for exceptional children. With nearly 140 programs for infants, young children, students, and adults, the AIU receives funding through federal, state, county, and private grants. DEPAUL INSTITUTE
DePaul School for Hearing and Speech, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is the only Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) school in the western Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia tri-state area. We teach children from birth to age 14 to listen, to speak and to learn without using sign language. At DePaul School for Hearing and Speech, we celebrate the success of each individual child with hearing loss as he or she transitions to and thrives in the hearing and speaking world. DUQUESNE CITY SD
Located approximately 12 miles south of Pittsburgh, the Duquesne City School District serves the families of the Duquesne City community. The district educates approximately 390 students in grades K-6 and employs about 80 professionals. Students in grades 7-12 attend either the East Allegheny or West Mifflin Area School Districts. The district's budget is about $16.4 million, which provides an array of quality educational programming for students and community members. EASTER SEAL SOCIETY WESTERN PA
The Easter Seal Society of Allegheny County was incorporated in 1935 and began as a volunteer effort of the local Kiwanis Club to provide transportation for children with disabilities to and from the hospital. After 75 years of services, Easter Seals Western PA has grown to an organization that provides comprehensive therapeutic, educational and vocational rehabilitation services to children and adults with disabilities and other special needs. Today, Easter Seals Western PA serves nearly 20,000 individuals from throughout 20 counties in Pennsylvania.

EDUCATION CENTER AT WATSON INSTITUTE
At The Harry S. Tack Education Center at the Sewickley Campus, Watson offers an approved private school that is licensed to serve children ages 3 to 21 with autism, cerebral palsy, neurological impairments and other developmental disabilities. The Education Center currently has 16 classrooms staffed by a special education teacher and two paraprofessionals. The staff to student ratio is approximately 1:2. Each classroom team consists of the teacher, paraprofessionals and related service professionals. Service professionals available to the classroom include speech and language therapists, occupational and physical therapists, teachers of the visually impaired, social workers, behavior specialists and a school nurse. Additionally, there are four "special" classes: art, music, library and adapted physical education. These classrooms are staffed by a teacher certified in their respective content area. A paraprofessional is assigned to each special classroom as well. The Education Center is accredited by The National Commission for the Accreditation of Special Education Services (NCASES), a subsidiary of The National Association of Private Special Education Centers (NAPSEC), a non-profit association whose mission is to represent private special education centers and their leaders. NAPSEC promotes high quality programs for individuals with disabilities and their families and advocates for access to the continuum of alternative placements and services.

Elizabeth Forward School District is composed of the Borough of Elizabeth, and the townships of Elizabeth and Forward. Located approximately 35 minutes south of the city of Pittsburgh, the district lies between the scenic Yough and Monongahela river valleys in the southernmost region of Allegheny County. ENVIRONMENTAL CHARTER SCHOOL AT FRICK PARK
The mission of The Environmental Charter School at Frick Park is to educate each student to high academic learning standards using a themed curriculum that will foster knowledge, love of and respect for the environment and the will to preserve it for future generations. The school began with grades K-3 in September, 2008 and grew to include fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades by the 2012/2013 school year. The school will continue to grow by one grade a year to grade 8. The school fills a gap in local education programs as the first environmentally-themed public school in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.

PRESSLEY RIDGE DAY SCHOOL
The Day School Pittsburgh is an Approved Private School and Partial Hospitalization Program with the goal of helping youth with serious emotional disturbances (SED) or behavior problems return to their original schools. Our program consists of 10 classrooms, each with no more than 12 students. A special component of our program are the family liasons who work closely with families, school districts, and other agencies (e.g., mental health, children and youth services, juvenile court) to help the youth be successful. We provide an individualized, strength-based approach to academic and behavioral growth.

Propel EAST is Propel's third school, opening in 2005. The school is located in Turtle Creek, PA and serves 400 students in grades K-8. The school has earned the state's Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) designation every year of its operation and three Keystone Achievement Awards. Propel EAST also has an intense focus on providing its students with a holistic education. Annual events such as the Arts Festival and Science Olympiad, in addition to varied partnerships with community organizations, make Propel EAST a fun and engaging place for students and parents.

Propel HOMESTEAD was the first Propel school, opening in 2003 with 180 students in the basement of the old Homestead hospital. Since its humble beginnings, Propel Homestead now operates in a beautiful renovated school facility and has achieved outstanding success.

Propel McKEESPORT is Propel's second school, opening in 2004 and serving 400 students in grades K-8. In March 2010, Propel McKEESPORT was named the single top performing elementary school from a nationwide consortium of charter schools that includes the recognized leaders such as KIPP, Aspire and Uncommon Schools. It was the second consecutive year that Propel McKEESPORT received an Effective Practice Incentive Community (EPIC) Award from New Leaders for New Schools, most recently receiving the award in the "Gold Gain" category. Gold Gain is EPIC's highest honor, awarding schools making the greatest gains with student achievement.

Propel Montour opened in 2007 and is home to 410 students in grades K-8. The school is located in Kennedy Township, just north of the City of Pittsburgh. Propel MONTOUR was the 2009 recipient of the Charles Gray Award from the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, recognized for an outstanding arts education program. Propel MONTOUR is also a leader in technology integration, hosting Propel's annual Technology Fair, which is attended by educators from various school districts throughout the state. In 2011, Propel Montour received an Effective Practice Incentive Community (EPIC) Award from New Leaders for New Schools, in the "Silver Gain" category, recognizing Montour's significant gains in student achievement.

SPECTRUM CS
THE MISSION: To provide school-to-work transition instruction in the classroom, on-site business, and community-based work sites for students aged 13-21. The program is structured to meet the needs of students who do not learn well in typical classroom settings due to unique cognitive, communication, and sensory challenges, including students with autism spectrum disorders.

There are six public schools in the Upper St. Clair School District. Three are K-4 elementary schools - Baker Elementary School, Eisenhower Elementary School and Streams Elementary School, two are middle schools - Boyce Middle School (5-6) and Fort Couch Middle School (7-8), and one is a high school, Upper St. Clair High School (9-12). WATSON INSTITUTE FRIENDSHIP ACADEMY (THE)
Friendship Academy has been a member of Watson's family of schools since October 26, 2001. As both an approved private school (APS) and a school-based partial hospital component (PHP), Friendship Academy serves 155 students from first to twelfth grade, specializing in meeting their individual educational and mental health challenges. Friendship Academy provides services to students who are emotionally and behaviorally challenged. Students may be diagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD), depressive disorders, conduct disorder, Asperger's Disorder, severe anxiety and many other conditions. Our students have needs that cannot sufficiently be met using traditional educational programs or techniques. Students come from school districts within Allegheny County as well as surrounding counties as an alternative placement.

WESLEY SPECTRUM HIGHLAND SCHOOL
Wesley Spectrum Highland Services combines an Approved Private School program and a school-based partial hospital program to offer programming for children and adolescents with serious emotional or behavioral health disturbance or autism. The two programs integrate treatment and education for a customized therapeutic learning experience.

West Allegheny School District was formed in 1949 from the schools in Findlay and North Fayette Townships and Oakdale Borough as a jointure. A formal district was formed in 1966. With approximately 19,000 residents in its 58 square miles, West Allegheny is the largest district, geographically, of the 42 school systems in Allegheny County. The mission of the West Allegheny School District, a leader in quality education, is to ensure that each student acquires the necessary knowledge and skills to be a responsible citizen, prepared for life-long learning and employment; this is accomplished by providing meaningful and personally challenging learning experiences within a safe, nurturing environment in partnership with family and community.

WEST MIFFLIN AREA SD
The school district is made up of five elementary schools: Clara Barton, Homeville, New Emerson, and New England and a new Early Childhood Education Center housing our PA Pre-K Counts preschool program and 4 kindergarten classrooms. The District has two secondary schools: West Mifflin Area Middle School and West Mifflin Area High School. The district offers the Advanced Curriculum Enrichment Program for gifted students. Qualifying students are eligible to receive special needs programs including Title I Reading and Math Programs, and Homebound Instruction. Currently, there are approximately 3,200 students enrolled and and 216 teachers in the West Mifflin Area School District. The District spends approximately $9,560 per student per school year.

Located in the heart of Oakland, Pennsylvania, the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children is a one-of-a-kind educational facility committed to training visually impaired students with additional disabilities. The School also provides vital early intervention and outreach services to visually impaired students, with or without additional challenges, throughout western Pennsylvania. The Mission of the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children is to be a leading educational facility and Outreach provider. The School offers a full range of exceptional individualized special education services fostering maximum independence for students with visual impairment, including blindness and other challenges, and provides support and resources to families and the community.

WESTERN PA SCHOOL FOR DEAF
The Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD) is a non-profit, tuition free school with high academic expectations. Founded in 1869, WPSD provides quality educational services and a complete extracurricular program to Deaf and hard-of-hearing children from birth through Grade 12. The Pittsburgh campus is located on 21 beautiful acres seven miles from downtown. WPSD’s programs also include the statewide Choices for Children Program, The Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, serving children in Northeast PA and the WPSD Outreach Services Department. With offices in Scranton, Camp Hill, PA and Pittsburgh, WPSD is the largest comprehensive center for deaf education in Pennsylvania. Our Mission: We prepare each deaf and hard-of-hearing student for all aspects of life through a continuum of high-quality, individualized education and extracurricular programs.
