The District has a well-deserved reputation for being leaders in education today. It is recognized for strong music, art and athletic programs. But, more important, the district is comprised of a healthy, happy community of educators who understand how important it is to provide every child with a supportive, motivating environment for learning. Kids here learn to be resourceful and are sought after by employers who value innovation. If you are new to the area or are considering a move to Great Falls, I personally welcome you. This is an eclectic community of good neighbors. Forget what you have heard about Montana weather; it is surprisingly moderate! Most winters produce only a couple of snowstorms of three or four inches each. We have a strong arts community, world-class fly fishing, great skiing, and immediate access to hiking the best of the national wilderness areas.

From establishing high school graduation as a priority through “Graduation Matters Missoula” to raising test scores in our schools, Missoula County Public Schools have been on the march to be the best. This year will be no exception. We will continue to pursue excellence in our schools. Our educational priority and mission must continue to be that all students succeed academically and graduate regardless of their circumstances and abilities. We must continue to support this philosophy with a no excuse or alibi mentality. There is no losing on this issue. Each and every student is too important. Together, with continued community support and dedication to our children, we will continue to increase the graduation rate, reduce the dropout rate, and increase academic rigor and overall student success.

We believe that connecting students to school through activities and athletics is important way to keep our students actively engaged in school. Since opening our new high school four years ago and creating a middle school from our junior high model, we have more than doubled the amount of 6-12 students involved in a wide array of extra and co-curricular activities. HAMILTON K-12 SCHOOLS

The Hamilton School District is excited to announce its participation in the statewide Graduation Matters initiative to increase the graduation rate to 100%. The cost of dropping out of high school is high. In Montana, high school drop outs earn $5,500 less per year than high school graduates. This is a significant loss in earnings over the course of a lifetime. The individual who drops out, and society, bear the weight of this shortfall.

Hardin Public Schools is home to about 1700 students who attend classes in seven schools in a geographic area over twice the size of the State of Rhode Island. The District Administratative Offices are located near Interstate 90 at 585 West John Deere Road. Superintendent of the District is Mr. Albert Peterson. District Business Manager and Clerk is Margy Lehman; Assistant Business Manager and Clerk is Kym Kern. Payroll is the responsibility of Richelle Link; Purchasing and receiving duties are handled by Amber Link; Federal Program director is Beth Howe. Ken Kepp is head of District Maintenance. District Printer is Gayl Cook.

Libby Public School District #4 is located in the northwest corner of Montana. Libby is the county seat of Lincoln County. Glacier National Park is about a two hour drive to the east, and the Canadian/US border is approximately eighty miles to the north. Spokane, Washington, is 165 miles to the southwest of Libby and the Idaho/Montana border is 45 miles to the west. The Libby School District serves a community of 11,000 with one elementary school (K - 4), one middle school (4 - 8), one alternative school (7-12), and one senior high school (9 -12). The total student population is approximately 1400 students.

Whitefish School District #44 is located in the scenic resort community of Whitefish, Montana. The city and outlying areas compose a population of 10,000 citizens. Whitefish School District and the surrounding community is bordered by the Rocky Mountains, Whitefish Lake and the Flathead Valley communities of Columbia Falls and Kalispell. We are the home to the nationally known ski resort located on the Big Mountain and we serve as the gateway to Glacier National Park. A vast menu of activities provide entertainment for all seasons of the year.Business expansions have helped solidify the district's tax base. The district has 1,500 plus students housed in four facilities: Muldown Elementary (K-4), Whitefish Middle School (5-8), Whitefish High School (9-12), and our Independent High School which provides a non-traditional setting for grades 10-12.

Given the continued increase of heavy traffic on its current Highway 93 location, the challenges with increased parking and school use demands, and all the related safety issues, Lolo School District is analyzing the possibility of gradually relocating its educational facility to this beautiful and much safer location.
