Springfield Public Schools is Missouri’s largest school district. We have built a reputation of academic excellence based on the outstanding performance of our students and schools. About 24,000 students attend 36 elementary schools, an intermediate school (grades 5 – 6), nine middle schools, five high schools, Phelps Center for Gifted Education, and an Early Childhood Center. In addition, we offer more than a dozen Choice Programs that cater to the diverse needs of many students including the International Baccalaureate program, Wonders of the Ozarks Learning Facility (WOLF), and the Middle College Program. All five of our district high schools are designated Missouri A+ Schools. Each of our schools and programs align with our three primary district goals of improving student achievement and our graduation rate, and ensuring effective and efficient use of resources. So, while we offer much variety, there is consistency in our effort to provide the best education possible to all our students.

LEE'S SUMMIT R-VII

The Lee's Summit School District was reorganized in 1949 when 16 rural elementary districts combined with the Greenwood School District and the Lee's Summit City School District. These rural districts included High Mound, Cedar Hill, Hazel Grove, Maple Grove, Colbern, Lone Oak, Oakland, Cyclone, Center Point, Wright, Tennyson, Woodland, Hazel Dell, Tarsney and Mason. In 1949, the school district totaled a little over 1,200 students. Today, close to 17,500 students attend our school district. Reorganized School District No. 7 -- more commonly known as the Lee's Summit R-7 District -- now includes 18 elementary schools, three middle schools, three high schools, the Summit Ridge Academy (alternative school), Great Beginnings Early Education Center and Summit Technology Academy.

“The mission of the Fox C-6 School District is to motivate and inspire success to build a foundation for life-long learning through achievement, character and excellence.”— Fox C-6 Mission Statement The Fox C-6 School district is the largest district located in Jefferson County, Missouri. It is located in the northeastern section of the county and covers an area of 104 square miles with approximately 65,000 residents. The northern half of the district is a suburban community while the southern half is rural. The Fox C-6 School District has the honor of achieving Distinction in Excellence from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for all TEN YEARS this award has been given out. Guffey Elementary, Ridgewood Middle, Fox Middle and Seckman High have been recognized as a National Schools of Character. The entire district has been recognized as a National District of Character. Our Lone Dell Elementary School is a Blue Ribbon School and was recognized as a Missouri State Gold Star School. Antonia Elementary and Fox Elementary have been recognized as Missouri Schools of Character. Both high schools, Fox Senior High and Seckman Senior High, are rated A+ Schools. Many of our schools are consistent Top Ten achievers as Most Improved and Highest Performance schools, as recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Fox C-6 School District itself encompasses eleven elementary schools, four middle schools , and two high schools Currently the district enrolled nearly 12,000 students in grades kindergarten through twelve. The district has designed its programs to achieve its mission by providing a full range of programs such as Parents As Teachers, full day kindergarten, comprehensive special education services, gifted education classes, college-level classes for high school students offered on-site and through interactive television, computer assisted instruction, and effective classroom instruction in all academic areas, the fine arts and physical education. Success in life also comes from having a strong foundation of principle on which to base learning. In addition to the educational development of our students, we also concern ourselves with their character development as well. Each month the district highlights a special quality or trait as part of our Character Education Trait of the Month, a program designed to establish wholesome values in every child alongside their studies. Our greatest resource is the people in the communities that Fox C-6 School District serves. Residents continue to support the district in many different ways, from serving as volunteers at various schools to attending school concerts, activities, and athletic events. Many Fox C-6 School District graduates remain here in local neighborhoods to give something back to the community that supported their education. Local businesses and service organizations also support the district as a part of the community. As the district is located just south of the St. Louis metropolitan area down Interstate 55, the community has access to all the cultural resources from that city, such as the St. Louis Art Museum, St. Louis Science Center, and institutions of higher learning like Washington University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
MEHLVILLE R-IX

The Mehlville School District began its educational journey in 1930 with the graduation of two students from Mehlville High School. Under the apt direction of its first two superintendents, Emil C. Bernard and Kermit O. Bierbaum (1935-1976), the District began its growth to the current prominent educational status it now enjoys and maintains. Successive superintendents have strived to maintain the extensive educational opportunities afforded to students. The District first consisted of smaller educational entities; however, on Oct. 27, 1951, the citizens of the Oakville, Mehlville, Point and Washington areas voted for consolidation of their schools into one reorganized high school district. The new district became the Mehlville R-9 District. Years later, the R-9 was dropped, and it became known as the Mehlville School District. After experiencing rapid growth in enrollment at the elementary and secondary levels, bus transportation was introduced into the area in 1951 and the need for educational space was apparent. Bernard and Bierbaum Elementary Schools were built to accommodate this early growth in student population. On May 11, 1964, the Mehlville School District voted to annex the Jefferson Barracks School District. In 1964, ground was broken for a new elementary school. The new school was named in honor of Henry Trautwein. In 1956, the district received the official title to 45 acres formerly part of the Veterans Administration Hospital Reservation at Jefferson Barracks; the land is now home to Beasley Elementary School. Wohlwend Elementary School opened in 1969. Oakville High School offered its first courses in secondary education in September 1970. At that time Oakville High School was a Ninth Grade Center housed at the Jefferson Barracks Building until it moved into its present building. Currently, the Mehlville School District consists of one early childhood center, 10 elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools, along with additional alternative learning programs. The progress of the Mehlville School District can be measured not only in growth but also by the improvements of its educational programs. The District is accredited by the State Board of Education and has received the state’s prestigious Distinction in Performance award for seven of the past nine years.

The Ritenour School District, located in Northwest St. Louis County, is one of the oldest districts in the metropolitan area. Our proud history began with Buck School, a one-room log cabin built in 1846. Today, Ritenour embraces the exciting challenges of the future. We have grown from that one room cabin into 10 schools, an early childhood center and a large adult community program. The growing Raymore-Peculiar School District is located just 20 minutes south of Kansas City. The district, which covers 94 square miles, includes the communities of Raymore and Peculiar; small portions of Lee's Summit, Belton and Lake Winnebago; and some unincorporated areas of Cass County. Today, approximately 5,900 students attend the Ray-Pec Schools.

The district, chartered in 1865, is among the oldest in St. Louis County and one of the oldest west of the Mississippi River. Located in southwest St. Louis County approximately 15 miles from the city of St. Louis, Kirkwood School District covers an area of 15 square miles and serves all or portions of the following suburban communities: Des Peres, Frontenac, Glendale, Huntleigh, Kirkwood, Oakland, Sunset Hills, Town and Country, and Warson Woods. The district also welcomes eligible students from the city of St. Louis through participation in the St. Louis Voluntary Transfer Program. With sidewalks and tree-lined streets, many Kirkwood School District neighborhoods are within walking or biking distance of the district's five elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. The Kirkwood Early Childhood Center and a Parents as Teachers program serve the needs of children ages birth through seven years. The Kirkwood School District and its surrounding communities reflect a blend of old town charm with new suburban vitality. Residents enjoy beautiful parks and recreation facilities, thriving municipal business districts, large shopping malls, an open air produce market, and a nationally acclaimed children's science museum. Located in southeast Missouri, Poplar Bluff is named for the dense growth of tulip poplar trees on the bluff of the Black River, which flows through the city. Poplar Bluff is approximately 150 miles south of St. Louis, 150 miles north of Memphis, 150 miles northeast of Little Rock, and about 330 miles southeast of Kansas City. The Poplar Bluff R-I School District is a member of the Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce.

Located in historic St. Charles, Missouri, the City of St. Charles School District (CSCSD) has been serving students for more than 155 years. The Belton School district is Accredited with Distinction by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Programs and services offered are broad-based and include child care, Parents as Teachers, early childhood education (regular and special) inc-district and out-district special education, gifted and talented education, vocational education, guidance and career counseling, and more. A "day treatment" program is operated in the district in conjunction with Ozanam. The Belton School District has recently been recognized at the national and state levels for several exemplary programs. The mission of the Belton School District is to encourage, challenge, and engage all students in the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will prepare them to become lifelong learners and contributing members of society. The Belton School District is located in Cass County, Missouri, just 20 miles south of downtown Kansas City and is a member of the Greater Kansas City Cooperating School Districts and Suburban Mid-6 Athletic Conference. The 12 campuses of the Belton School District, which include: Grace Early Childhood Care & Education Center (birth to pre-k), Cambridge, Gladden, Hillcrest, Scott, and Kentucky Trail elementary schools (K-4), Mill Creek Upper Elementary (5-6), Yeokum Middle School (7-8), Belton Freshman Center, Belton High School (10-12) , Belton Academy, and Belton-Ozanam Southland Cooperative (K-12) serve approximately 4,800 students. On August 9, 1949, Jackson County voters approved a county-wide reorganization plan whereby the 83 districts were divided into 15 units. The district we know today was created from 16 rural districts and the Buckner and Levasy High School districts. The 16 rural schools had an enrollment of 246 children, Buckner had 238, and Levasy had 88. On August 30, 1949, a special school election was held to elect six directors for Reorganized District No. 1 of Jackson County (Fort Osage School District's name). The first recorded meeting was held in the First State Bank of Buckner on September 2, 1949.

The Webb City School District was established in 1877 to serve the students of Webb City. Prior to the establishment of the Webb City Reorganized School District in 1968, area youth who lived outside the Webb City School District were educated in numerous one room rural school districts and in high school districts in incorporated communities nearby. Over the years, consolidation and reorganization plans were initiated with the goal of providing better quality educational programs in a more efficient manner. In September, 1968, final reorganization took place when the Carterville School District voted, as had Alba in 1967, to become a part of the Jasper County Reorganized School District R-VII, to be known and referred to as the Webb City R-7 School District. Below is a listing of the individual school districts that once operated within what is now the Webb City R-7 School District
CAMDENTON R-III

The Camdenton R-III School District has a proud and long-standing tradition of excellence in the state of Missouri and has received numerous local, state, and national awards of distinction for the achievements of our community, students, and teachers.
